Bollywood legend Amitabh Bachchan


Amitabh Bachchan is the living legend of hindi film industry.He was born in Allahabad, Uttar Pradesh and his father Dr.Harivansh Rai Bachchan is a great poet of his times.Amitabh Bachchan has a younger brother in Ajitabh Bachan.
His mother mother had a keen interest in film industry and was the center point of Amitabh Bachchan to grow as a super star.
He married actress Jaya Bhaduri on June 3, 1973, according to Bengali rites. The couple has two children: daughter Shweta and son Abhishek.
Amitabh Bachchan won his first National Film Award for Best Newcomer in his first film "Saat Hindustani", though the film was not sucessful at taht times, but the next movie "Anand" became a superhit which also got him Filmfare Best Supporting Actor Award.After that he never stopped and he was even called "angry young man" of Indian cinema at those times.In the year 1975, his two movies "Dewar" and "Sholay" became box office super duper hits and among these "Sholay" still remains the greatest of the Bolywood film indutry as it has become a history of all times.Even now, if this movie "Sholay" runs in any theatre it runs to full house.Since then he has acted in more than 100 films.Though he also tried in politics, he never got adjusted there.He also tried in singing in some of the movies.
In the begining of his film carier he was rejected as an actor by a director.Though he was dejecetd, he was more determined to reach this unimaginabe heights in Bollywood that no one can reach.

* Filmfare Best Actor Award in 2006 for the movie "Black"

* Filmfare Best Supporting Actor Award in 1972 for the movie "Anand"

* Filmfare Best Supporting Actor Award in 1974 for the movie "Namak Haraam"

* Filmfare Best Supporting Actor Award in 2001 for the movie "Mohabbatein"
